Wood Fillers:  A long finishing job on a piece of wood material (a furniture piece) with grit sandpapers and wipe the surface with lint-free rage for the preparation of base coat application is considering quite a process.  And quests what?  An accidental drop it to the ground or a heavy object drops and lands on it and may be someone accidentally step on it in result of stripping away a small piece from its edge.

As frustrated as it can be, fortunately a good can of Wood Filler can be a life saver.  it is wise to fill the edge with filler in excess.  Wait for it to dry and sand it down to match its original shape.  Good Wood Fillers are made with genuine wood flour and thus can be sanded and stained without showing signs of crack or shrinkage.

Cabinet Hardware:  The suggestion on not to have any Knob, Pull, or Handle to doors for the kitchen cabinet is reasonable.  We have done kitchens which have doors without any hardware.  For wall units it works out quite right because one can simply pull the doors from the bottom.  As for those Base Cabinets or Vanities, there is no way to get around without using Channels of some kinds to give e a change for our fingers to open the doors.

There are literally hundreds if not thousands of Door Knobs, Handles and Pulls with all kind of designs from rustic to refined, from traditional to modern to match one's taste or need.  Doors enhanced with hardwares can be fashionable, particle, and convenience.  It also helps to open up the interior spaces of the Cabinet Box.  Yes it does cost extra money, but it will contribute extra results.

Applying paint on a Glossy Laminate surface:  To renew a set of Glossy Laminate doors for a Kitchen or a Vanity by painting over them is simply or absolutely not worth the effort unless the quantity is only a very small may be just a coup;e of doors.  In this case, it can be done by sending out the glossy layer for prime then application of paint over them.

Paint simply does not bite on to the glossy surface of any gloss laminate of choice. It will peel or strips off from the gloss surface of the laminate eventually.  We occasionally use laminate to wrap around the skeleton of a wood dummy by exposing the opposite side for paint application process.  That is the only situation that works to the advantage.
