Applying paint on a Glossy Laminate surface: To renew a set of Glossy Laminate doors for a Kitchen or a Vanity by painting over them is simply or absolutely not worth the effort unless the quantity is only a very small may be just a coup;e of doors. In this case, it can be done by sending out the glossy layer for prime then application of paint over them.
Paint simply does not bite on to the glossy surface of any gloss laminate of choice. It will peel or strips off from the gloss surface of the laminate eventually. We occasionally use laminate to wrap around the skeleton of a wood dummy by exposing the opposite side for paint application process. That is the only situation that works to the advantage.
