BELUU in Focus - Finishes (26)

Posted by John

Distress Finishing:  A visit to a heritage village with the history dated back in the 1921 is a precious admiration and eye opening lesson handed down from the previous generation of skills, knowledge, creations, inventions and imaginations.

In the furniture or woodworking world, past generation work of art is a beauty of age attachment.  To bring back that feeling, all it takes is to have a nail, metal train, hammer and a chisel which is used to inflicted damages to the surface of the raw doors or furnishings.  The purpose is to create an impression of natural wear of a distress effect of the past but still has the ingredients of all the modern appeal.  After all basic procedure and  proper application of stain color and finishing coats is on, a new project will look and feel spectacular.
